1966 L79, Front Driver's Side Leak, ISO Guidance

Gents: After I drove my Vette 50 miles or so this weekend and put her away in the garage, an hour later, I noticed a small puddle of fluid (same viscosity as engine oli) pooled under the driver's side front - in the steering bracket area. I don't have a lift, yet, I got a flash light and check it out the best I could. It appears to be coming from the horizontal shock like unit in the front steering bracket.


Please forgive my mechanical description ignorance above. However, if another NCRS Member can give me some guidance on identifying and fixing this issue, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks for your consideration. Best regards, Ned

Sounds like the steering stabilizer shock has bit the dust. That is a replace item, not typical repair. The oil is quite a bit thinner than motor oil. Look above that it may be engine oil dripping down on the stabilizer.
