Folks,
This is an extension of a previous thread.
My odometer recently quit. So, I'm in the process of the restoration.
I've removed the dash and gauge cluster.
And, I've torn the speedometer down to the final worm gear and T-gear.
Everything went smoothly up to that point.
The problem is that nowhere can I find any information regarding the removal of those two last gears.
They appear to be press fit into the housing. They appear to be the issue.
But, I'm reluctant to start banging away in the hope that I know what I'm doing.
Should I bite the bullet and just send the unit out to be repaired?
Or, can somebody give my some guidance as to how to do this myself?
Should I do this myself? So many people post here and elsewhere that this is easy.
If so, I'd like to try it.
