Has anyone done a survey of the 65 1962 Corvettes that were produced with the #488 24 gallon fuel tank?

I have some info gathered over the years, since before I wrote the Restorer on them about 20 years ago. Not a formal survey, though. Some were for racing with FI and wide wheels. Others were 250 and 300 hp long-trip cars. I know that one was bought used in the late 60's by a GI stationed in California. The tank was not in the car. About 25 years later, when he was restoring the car, he realized it had been a tanker. He chose to remove signs that it had been a tanker originally. That was an original 300 hp car.

I saw one a few years ago that was a Powerglide. Story was that original owner lived on a large ranch in Texas and took long trips.

I have a few vin #'s marked Bill. Part of my RACER Survey files. I marked ''all'' tankers I have seen over the years.
