    Mike,
Typically you go through the gears and when in 4th you keep it to the floor until you reach your rpm goal, then quickly lift.

Yes, to measure maximum engine output. But with a fresh build some folks don't want to go WOT to red line. The goal is to check for normal operation and avoid surprises when taken on the highway. Anyway, that's my take on what Rich did.

I guess my dozens of dyno runs have been flawed then.

Not to hijack Rich's thread, but I heard my name. I agree 100% Jim. I love watching vintage racing and I discovered the best seat in the house was right out there on track. Most fun I've ever had with a Corvette.

On topic: I put my vintage racer on a chassis dyno once. Hearing the vehicle roar and watching it strain against the restraint chains at WOT was a rush!

Bruce, Cool story. yes it was a bit nervy up there.

Mike, Mark precisely described the intent. I just wanted some run time.

Jim G, Perfect tribute to Chuck.

Jim L, Certainly a rush up there, and yes it'd be a blast on a track. I've never done that.
And.......Yes thanks to you and John D I got through several FI problems.

Folks, Via emails, Jim and John were giving me pointers on pre-install prep along with help and a great confidence builder for me. This was my first FI experience.

I pretested the unit on a bench to check injectors....Vid here....

After engine break and seeing the small leak, I had to remove the unit and remove the fuel meter. I had a small leak coming from the seal surface between the high pressure pump and fuel meter. Jim had the exact same problem in the past and sent me a few photos of his and how he fixed it. His had the exact same high spots as this one did.

Here's a video I sent them showing the problem....

Here are the photos of this one showing the high spots while lapping it with a sanding block and the finished surface. After I got it flat, new gasket, back on the FM, the leak was gone. However, I did have one issue. One screw stripped the housing threads. I had to carefully Helicoil it using a 10-32 kit. Worked great after that, leak gone, unit back on the car and it's leak-free now.
