Gents: This past Sunday, a group of us Corvette fans in Montgomery County Texas, visited the home of a private car collector who had a collection which contained ~250 vehicles (including prestine examples of 1963 fuel injected split window coupes and 1954 C1s). I'd be more specific on who the fellow was, yet, I suspect he's a private man as he only opens it a up to guests a few times a year. In any event, I have seen some pretty cool collections over the years in places like Las Vegas, Texas, Florida, New England, UK, Qatar and Dubai; yet what made this collection the most impressive were the following three things: (1) the significant number and wide range of vehicles (95% cars and trucks, yet, old French period wagons, pieces of old historic buildings, a heliocopter and a train too); (2) they were all absolutely 100% perfect (the red on red 1963 Vette was particularly gourgous and accurate); and (3) the vehicles were displayed in 5-7 very large halls complete with extensive vintage signage, historical artifacts, an actual drive in theater, a huge soda shop and even a very large old (yet fully operational) Mobil gas station. In sum, it was great to see some very cool old iron and Corvette fiberglass; and to be hosted by such an engaging and hospitable fellow as our host was. I think that we can all agree, that there some neat people in our hobby.
