I have what may be a Bowtie candidate and need your help. They usually say to not mess with anything, but I would like to stop a valve cover leak. Using a mirror and light the gaskets appear to be original and never changed. The bolts were snugged lightly when I went to take them off to replace the gaskets. I can't remember where I read that a little thread sealer or something was used on the threads to stop some weeping of oil travelling up the threads. So, I may put off replacing the gaskets for now. I also, remember lightly tightening by "feel" the valve cover bolts as a kid. Somewhere someone gave a torque spec in "inch" pounds. This is a 327/300hp.
