Can anyone tell which is the original and which one is a reproduction?
After all the talk of the poorly done reproductions I am happy with the window glass.
Purchased through eBay seller autocity1958



Delivered in a week. Good communications.

After all the talk of poor quality reproduction parts this has been a shinny spot.
One might be able to tell the difference between them but it's not easy.
Some of the difference is because it is so difficult to photograph the bug sticker.

Sorry, I don't know what happened to the pictures. Possibly when I edited my post I forget to include them?
The darker picture (Bottom picture, it may change depending on your settings or view) is the original window bug sticker for a 63 SWC.

Once the reproduction door glass is installed, is the manufacturer DOT identifier visible?

I have only been an NCRS member for 42+ years, and I've never heard the term bug sticker. Why is that etching called that, since it is not a sticker?

I have seen bugs on windows, and I have seen stickers on windows. Never heard of a bug sticker.

A good friend of mine used to own an auto glass business and that is what he called them.......

And too David's question, yes the bug sticker is visible.

"bug" is standard glass industry nomenclature for the monogram on automotive glass. Example link below.

The "plate" is further away from the "LOF" on the original than the repro. The box around the LOF is slight different (rounded corners vs not as rounded). Otherwise nice reproduction.

As Richard noted in his response above, DOT identifier of reproduction glass manufacturer is visible on installed glass. Visible DOT identifier would, of itself, indicate replacement glass. Agree with Steven, otherwise nice reproduction.
