    Heater box

Besides the date, is a 63,64,65,66 and 67 heater box the same? In other words interchangeable. If this is so, will it pass judging since the date isn't judged. Thank you for your help.

    Re: Heater box

Kerry, the answer is no. The early 63 box has a unique mechanism to open and close the internal flappers. The design changed to the 64 to 67 style around April/May 1963. The design was terrible and it did not seal completely. The Y duct for 63 is a different design. Also in 63 there was air diverter (snout) that attached to the left side of the heater box that directed air to the drivers right leg. The 63 box is easy to spot so you will take a 40% hit. 20% for configuration and 20% for implied date. Look for a 64 to 67 box and you should be fine.
