    C2 Brake Hose Plug

I have to disconnect the hydraulic brake lines on my '64 convertible (original stock drum brake) and they will be disconnected for a few weeks. Is there a particular brake hose pug that I should buy to prevent brake fluid from draining from the system?

When I say "particular" I mean do I need a threaded, non-threaded, plug, preferred diameter, etc. I know brake hose line plugs are common items available from NAPA and other national auto parts stores but all of them imply they are designed for cars with disk brakes.

Would appreciate info on make, brand, part #, etc and source.

Thank to all that offer advice.

I think this same question was asked on the CF C1/C2 Section a few days ago. Someone recommended special rubber plugs that were available for very little cost on Amazon. I can try and find the link for you if you cannot.

What I do is go to NAPA (or others) and buy short sections of brake line with the correct end fittings. Then cut the new metal tubing about 1-2 inches past the fitting. Then crimp and/or solder the open end closed. This makes a correct end piece that does not leak fluid. When the job is complete, put them in your toolbox for the next time.

    FWIW.

I simply use golf tees that I sharpen to a point on my grinder. Works every time.
