    Source for White Line Tires?

Hi Gents, I'm setting up a second set of wheels/tires for my 1967 Corvette convertible and but I'm having a difficult time finding suitable tire options? I was wondering where you're purchasing white line radial tires? I'd consider going with red line radials but first preference is white.

    Happy Holidays.

    Thanks,
    Dan

a cheap way to go would be to buy these Hankook tires

or you can go to https://www.dbtires.com/

I bought a set of Hankooks to go on my Western Wheels KOs for my '66, but since they don't make black walls, I had to turn the white wall inside. But they are good tires.

I've seen midyears with Cooper Trendsetter SE tires. I think they're available in the right size(s) with a white stripe. Also they have a less aggressive tread pattern and relatively clean traditional sidewalls. A nice plus is that the tires are made in the US by a US company.

I am actually considering Coopers in black sidewall to mount on my 1973 on a set of YJ8 aluminum wheels.

I just put a set of the Cooper Trendsetter SE (205/75R-15) on my 66. If your looking for thin whitewalls you don't have a big choice. The Cooper and Hankook have whitewalls that are a little wider than the 5/8" for original tires. I measured the Coopers at just a little under 3/4".

I bought the Hankook Optimo's whites like Keith suggested for my 67, they look good, have not tried them out at this time.

I see the Uniroyal tiger paw is still available in 205/75/15 whitewall. I just cant see putting Hankoook's on an old Corvette...it doesn't sound right. Plus Uniroyal was an OE supplier back in the day.

                      Silvertown is a bias ply.

I ended up going with Coker Classic Redlines... I will keep the white lines for the show/original application for the non-DOT set.

                      Thanks,

                        Daniel,
Have your new red line radials shipped yet?? I ask only because in your original post you were seeking information on white wall tires...and, you received some good recommendations. However, had we known you were going to be seeking out a red line tire, I believe to a man, we would have recommended (as Keith did back in post #2) that you go with Diamondback radials. They sell a Michelin Defender red line tire that, IMHO, is the best red line radial you can buy today.

                          Hi Leif,

It was not my intent to seek information and then back peddle on the final decision, causing you gents to post info wasting time. The Cokers were a local pick up at a value for new tires I could not refuse. These things have an odd way of finding you...

                          Thanks,
                          Dan

hope you have good luck getting them balanced. there is a lot of unhappy people out there with there radials that can't be balanced. that could be why you got them at a good price
