    Tom,

Do you have the new 5th Edition Judging Guide?

Not really. Some of the Judging Guides are, um, not so good or descriptive.

My point is that the 70-72 5th Edition is lightyears ahead of the 4th Edition. It has the answers to some of the questions he has been asking, and would be of immense help to the restoration of his LS-6.

I've been a part of 7 different JGs over the years. The new 70-72 has raised the bar significantly. Maybe not as much as when textbooks changed from "the earth is flat" to "the earth is round", but close. Gary Bosselman did a great production job--color pics, and much more!

                They should be silver.

More than just silver it is helpful (which is in the TIM&JG) to know that the front dust shields were originally plated (probably zinc) after forming, so refinishing by re-plating is duplicating the original process. However, the rear dust shields were formed from galvanized sheet and thus the edges were un-plated. So plating the rears will NOT duplicate the original process. Some sharp-eyed judges may notice the difference, others may not. Your car, your choice, but be informed when you make that choice.
