As I move forward with my interior restoration of my 67 L71 I've run into yet another question. On page 39 of the TIMJG there is a diagram of the seat assembly that came from the AIM. In the diagram, part# 11 is referred to as the "Catch Asm". On page 38 of the TIMJG 3rd paragraph under Section 11 Seating Area it mentions a "latch mechanism" that should be painted silver and is attached with 2 oval head Phillip screws. Two questions. One, is the latch mechanism the same part as the Catch Asm noted in the diagram? If so, are the Phillip screw heads painted silver as well? Thank you.

Re: 67 Seat Latch/Catch Assembly
The catch on the seat base is plated then painted silver. Why, I don't know. The screws are brite plated. The latch Pawl's on the seat back are zinc plated the springs are black phosphate. The shoulder bolt is also zinc.- Top

Re: 67 Seat Latch/Catch Assembly
Gene, Thank you for your reply. I ordered reproduction catches and they are plated. The worn out catches were silver but it didn't sound correct. I agree. Why paint them? Bottom line what was on my car was correct. Thanks again- Top
