65 glove box / spare tire locks

Hey guys, I'm in need of someone who can provide the correct lock cylinders for the spare tire and the glove box and key them alike. I initially contacted P.L. , but now I can't reach him and I need to get them back on the car. Anyone out there who has experience with this ?

I highly recommend Peter Lindhal - he can fix you up with keys & locks that will meet NCRS judging standards. Great guy - answers e mail, will talk to you if you call, has a great deal of knowledge, reasonable prices. You won't find anyone better. If you do a search for his name in this forum you will find a lot of members that have recommended him.

I agree, reach out to Peter. I just got a set of keys back along with spare tire lock. I was able to get key code from my glove box lock which is all the same for 1963/1964.

I've dealt with Pete in the past, great guy. He did my wiper arms and a couple other things. Problem is, he's not responding. I've called, emailed and sent messages on this forum, no response. I figure he's on vacation or maybe dealing with an illness. the glove box / spare tire locks are the last thing on the agenda.

I had a similar issue, I had an old correct tyre lock but the glove box Key would not turn, so I took it to my local key guy, he removed the tumblers internally $10 and now the lock works fine - when judging the car make sure you pass the judge the glove box Key only.

It is the owner's responsibility to demonstrate features of cars operation. Not necessary to give any judge keys.

Keys (Briggs & Straten) should have correct key way code letter and knock out with code to be correct.

Peter has a packet that presents the entire key with application, a super job with full details.

I was able to make contact with Pete today, yea !.. The correct locks with keys are on the way.

Pete's the best in the business and a real gentleman... he has always been more Han fair and he also taught some judging techniques at some regionals... a true Corvette die hard... good luck
