There are a number of websites that offer production statistics for Corvettes. Here is one that seems accurate:

The VIN provided indicates a March 1971 build, so about midway through the year.

      Tom

Welcome to the NCRS you have one rare car what color interior/exterior coupe/convertible.

21801 71 were produced your VIN at 11758 is about mid production. the Suffix indicates you have LS-6 4-speed the VIN stamped in the block the first letter should be a "C" Engine assembled Feb 27th. I would recommend you buy the 70-72 judging guide to help. It is most likely the best manual we have produced to date. You can order it on line thru the store at the top of the page find the listing for C3 then 68-82 judging guides click on it a drop down box will open and order the 70-72 manual.

If my memory serves me correctly VIN 11758 would be a very early production LS-6.

In NCRS parlance, 'late' and 'early' refers to running production changes to individual components that may have occurred anywhere though the production year. It does not refer to the car as a whole.

The choice of terminology is poor at best, but it seems we're stuck with it. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. design would have been less confusing.
