Michael: Thanks for posting the tanker article; it's a fascinating subject. I'm sure you're aware that the 300 SL Coupe (Gullwing) came standard with a 34.5 gallon fuel tank. It didn't leave much room for luggage in the trunk.Attached Files- Top

Did your 66 Silver tanker come from the Sacramento area? I saw one like it at the NCRS meet a couple of years ago, and then again at a local car show at AERO JET later the same year. If it's the same car, I thought it was a beauty, and looked original/unrestored to my untrained eyes. Either way a, nice car indeed.

I was not familiar with the MB, but I knew they had a snazzy set of custom designed luggage to fit behind the seat. I wish the Corvette tankers had that........Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top
