66 tailpipe bezels

    66 tailpipe bezels

    I need help in telling if the tailpipe bezels are original or not .On the inside lip on top the left has #3892225 with raised numbers and the right #389226 inside, but not as raised in font. There is also on the other side of the stud on both a circle with inside what looks to be a KD . If it is original I will keep it Just do knot know. Any pics would help. Thanks for the help

      Assuming that the car is not an early build, those are the correct part numbers for the original bezels. So, I would say that these bezels are either original to the car or GM replacements of the original part number. There's really no way to determine which and it does not matter, anyway.

          Joe, Thanks for the reply, would the replacment have the# on them? I am not a catalog car guy so if origanal I would like to keep them.

              Yes, the GM replacements would have been the same as the originals. They would both have the part number on the rear of the bezels.
