Had a chance to review the 2013 article from The Restore. I was surprise to see he was sanding the hubcap with 120, 220, up to 600 grit sandpaper. The finished result looked great. I guess he removed the thin "flash" plating (I read about from past post), but you can buff the stainless out to get a finished that looks like it's still plated.

It sounds like the wheels you have are from a 1955 or 1956 Chevrolet passenger car. They will fit and function just fine on your 62 but won't judge very well. You can have them bead blasted and re painted to freshen them up. Good luck

Thanks for the feedback. I am looking to make it a clean solid driver. I just got them out of storage, along with the original hubcaps. That's good to know, I was just researching how to measure a wheels "offset" so I could compare their offset to the offset of the "original" 62 wheels.

Yes, if all is good with these wheels I was going to get them blasted and powder coated black (getting WW radials 205/75R-15). I believe the 62 original wheels were gloss black from the factory.
