    75 Tilt/Teli Steering Column

Just finished disassembling tilt steering column to tighten the 4 bolts on the knuckle, replaced the middle and upper bearings, lubed the starter gears, painted, reassembled and installed in vehicle. Now I have 2 problems:
1: I have 1/4 inch play in the steering wheel (left to right) before the steering shaft has any movement at the coupler or steering box.

2: when the locking ring is turned to the 1 o'clock position the teli is locked in position. When the horn contact ring and spacers are tightened with the 3 screws you can not turn the adjusting ring or will the shoe on the horn ring touch the horn contact spring loaded contact.

Sure could use some help on what I did wrong.

Richard, you might want to check the pins on the left and right side of your tilt housing. They have to be in all the way or flush with the housing. Not to sure on the second question, but is sounds like you might have to check the canceling cam where the horn pin touches the cam.
