1964 Seatbelt Buckle Paddle Restore | Restorer Magazine Request

Can someone please share a scan of the Fall, 1996 issue of the Restorer Magazine titled 1965-66 Seat Belt Buckle Restoration. I'm not sure how to disassemble my 1964 seatbelt buckle. The DVD's for the C2's from the online store have been out of stock.

I'm attempting to re-texture and paint them, but can't figure out how to disassemble properly.

Planned Texture: SEM 39853 Black Texture Coating
Planned Paint: SEM 15043 Shadow Blue Color Coat (for my 490BB Dark Blue Interior)

    Thanks in advance,

    Brad Vigesaa

Brad, take some photo s of belt buckle before restoration.
Note the numbers on inside of buckle, also the cloth label and note approx build of car.

Success!! Thanks again Vinnie for the info.

Alan, it looks like the numbers wore off. There is nothing visible but good advise to take some pictures.

          So Brad,
what color are belts, what does your tag say, and approx build date of car. Reason for asking is that
some of the lessor used colors had 63 tags going well into 1964 (even to March), however the black
          changed by Jan 1964. thanks

            Hi Alan,

The belts are blue, tags are CORVETTE 772COR-H '64, build date of car is 2/5/1964. My car had replacement belts which I'm trying to make correct. When do you think the blue belts changed over?

              Brad,

Here is a picture of the original seat belt tag and belt material from my January 18, 1964, AOS built Corvette convertible. As Alan mentioned I have the 1963 dated tags.

              Regards,

                Brad,
your belts will pass muster since date of car and belt are 64. As Jim notes his have a 63 tag on a 1/18/64 car thus being an example of red belts being left over from 1963 and used in 1964, only a few days into the next year which should not be a surprise.
Have found that the less ordered belts, such as white could have a 63 label as late as March 1964.
Thanks for your efforts, I'm just keeping some data on subject.

                  Thanks James / Alan.

For those going down this journey, I think SEM 39853 Black Texture Coating did a nice job. These just came out of the backyard paint booth.
