1975 Gas Tank without the bladder.

If I was to order a new tank how do I seal the sending unit if the the old bladder is destroyed. Do they make a seal to seal this? I read that you have to use the old bladder but, my bladder is shot.

First of all, I do not recommend using a 1975-77 fuel tank without a bladder. However, I do understand the situation a failed bladder places 75-77 owners in since the bladder is long-since discontinued, not reproduced, and unlikely to be reproduced.

You could use the gasket section of your existing bladder by cutting it from the rest of the bladder assuming that the gasket section is serviceable. Or, you could make a gasket from a sheet of Buna-N rubber.

If anyone offers a ready-made gasket, I would expect that the folks at Quanta would be the one.

A friend is replacing his 75 tank with a tank style previous to 75. You would need a fuel filler neck and sending unit also.
