    deck lid fitup

    Gentlemen,

After a body off restoration of my 67 vert, I found that the deck lid is hard up against both sides when latched. I removed all body shims under that location, and no change. I can't see how the deck lid wedges or the hinge positioning could help this situation. No filler was added to the deck lid or body in this area. Any ideas?

    Hey Chuck,

How is the fit on the doors? If the doors are not in yet, I would put them in first. If the doors are already in and fit OK, then I would suggest you loosen the body bolts to the point where you can lift the body from the underside to see if there is a position where the distance between the two upper sides spread apart. You said you already took out all the shims from the mount just ahead of the rear tires. I would try adding shims to either the rear mounts or the mount at the front of the door. Good luck with it.
