    1969 Starter Motor

I have a starter motor with part number 1108418 on it. Dated 9D15 (April 15, 1969 presumably). I am seeing lots of applications. Can anyone tell me if it is specific to any 69 Corvette application?

Looked it up in corvette specs online and in the book, both say the following:

1108418 was not used on corvettes till 1970

    1970 - 350 with 4-Speed Manual Transmission (usage unverified)
    1971 - 2nd Production 350 Engines with 4-Speed Manual Transmission
    1972 - 350 Engines with 4-Speed Manual Transmission
    1973/74 - 350 Engines with 4-Speed Manual Transmission
1975 - Early Production with 4-Speed Manual Transmission

Got it. As I now look in the new JG I see it appears for late 70 production (July) cars. Old JG that # doesn't show up until 71. So, with the 69 date it would be for other than Corvette.
      Thanks for the info.

The GM #1108418 starter was used for most 1969 Chevrolet models with 396 or 427 cid engines except Corvette. 1969 Corvettes with 427, except L-88/ZL-1, used the GM #1108400 starter. The 1108418 was only available in SERVICE for a very short time, being discontinued in March, 1970 and replaced by the 1108400.

I've always wondered what the difference was between the 1108418 and 1108400. As far as I can tell, their components were the same. But, there had to have been some difference.
