'67 M21 numbers

    '67 M21 numbers

    Please review the attached pics of my transmission. First pic is of the serial number, second pic is the assembly code, third pic I have no idea and would like y'alls input. Thank you.

    I've never seen any numbers stamped there on a Muncie. Seems like a lot of numbers for a rebuilders stamp but you never know.

      The stamping in the 3rd photo is a stamping that was done with individual stamping dies. This type of stamping was rarely done at the factory (way too time consuming among other reasons). So, I'd say it was a stamping done by a rebuilder.

        Jim and Joe,
        As always, thank you for your responses. You're both, most likely, correct with your assumptions. I had the transmission out and re-sealed back in July of 2015. They looked over the transmission while it was out to be sure it needed nothing else. I guess they stamped it at that time. Thanks again.

          Leif, common practice amongst rebuilders. Possibly for warranty purposes so that a shop knows if it was their work or not. I have seen rebuilders stamp an engine pad above the egine assembly sequence, and it was an original pad....so you never know....Regards my friend...ARA
