I would like to run my 9 fin valve covers on 327 heads.
Did any of the 327 heads have the holes for staggered bolt valve covers?

You're out-of-luck. No 327 heads were ever made with staggered valve cover bolt pattern. In fact, no late 283 heads were ever made this way, either. Of course, you can use early 283 heads on a 327 but I do not recommend it.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

i wanted to use a pair of staggered valve covers on a pair of 2.02" 327 heads. JB weld didn't work. i then brazed mounds where the staggered covers needed their attachment. then drilled and tapped the brazed material. did this in the early 90's when the maryland missile was fooling with the dipstick of lyle, washington . those heads still power the white 57 Corvette. mike- Top

You can't just drill and tap the heads for the staggered bolt pattern. As Mike mentions above, you have to add material in the area of the new holes. The heads have small bosses in the area of the holes to provide the material thickness necessary to support the 1/4-20 tappings. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
