    Oil leak

2000 vette, 35,000 miles, regular oil changes. Went into garage the other day to discover a puddle of looked to be oil. The drip appeared to start dripping about a few inches from the oil filter towards the drivers side. The oil(I think) is crystal clear, ran from the front of car to the back of car.
    Any help is appreciated
    Ron

Ron, common anti leaks are generally related to the water pump seal and gaskets on the LS motor's

Suggest you determine what the fluid is then look for source. This may be condensation from A/C system as it is engaged even when in heater mode. Also a leak in exhaust system can cause condensate. Last of all was car recently vwashed or in rain. There are several areas around windshield on C5 that hold water.

Just out of curiosity, is the compressor always on or does it cycle?

Steve, when a/c or Defrost is on the compressor will cycle on and off it uses a pressure switch that can cycle compressor depending on outside temp. as the pressure varies the hotter or colder it is outside.
