Unusual Build Sequence number with additional characters?

My '63 SWC (build date 4/11/63), has the build sequence number 202 written in grease pencil on all the typical panels. I am wondering what the possible reason would be for the letter "e" to be written twice after the number 202. On my car "202ee" appears on the inside of both door panels. Does anybody have any idea what this might mean? One person has suggested that it might have meant "experimental" but I have no clue. If anyone has any insight on this I would appreciate it. Thank you.

What is on your trim tag for interior? I wonder if EE (or ee) is a ECL code of some sort?
