I have a 69 judging manual around here somewhere but can't seem to put my hands on it. So I'll be lazy and ask . . . where is the VIN derivative found on the 68-69 frames?

It's found in 2 places, one of which cannot be seen with the body on the frame. The one that can be seen, albeit with some difficulty, is on the top of the frame's left side rear "kick-up" section, usually forward of the rear wheel centerline.
