Real easy to find a source. Go to acdelco.com Click on "locate parts". Enter "batteries" from the pull down menu. Enter your ZIP code. That's all there is to it.

NOTE: I just tried using the feature at acdelco.com. It appears to me that right now something is wrong with the web-site as I get an "error/forbidden" message. Try again later or call the AC Delco toll free number.

Well, I tried again and got the same result as I did before. However, then I experimented with taking different "routes". If I first click on "find service center" and then click on "find auto parts store", I get a different page to enter type of part and ZIP code. Then, it works for me. So, if anyone has the same problem I had, try using the aforementioned "route".

I've never seen them at any of the mass retailers or, even, chain parts stores like Pep Boys, O'Reilley", or AutoZone. Of course, in some parts of the country I suppose it's possible any of these might carry them---not here in the SF Bay Area, though.

As has been discussed here many times before, most of the automotive batteries available in the USA are manufactured by only a small number of companies----Johnson Controls and Exide being the primary ones. So, regardless of the brand, the chances are that one of these companies manufactured it. What we don't know is if these companies manufacture the batteries the same regardless of brand. I kind of believe they do not. While the external case design may be the same, that does not mean that "what's inside" is the same. So, I prefer Delco batteries, regardless of who actually makes them now. They also have an excellent free replacement warranty.

One real curious thing I've noted: when Delco ceased to manufacture batteries and outsourced the manufacture, the "Delco-Eye" disappeared from the batteries. Now, I've seen some models of Delco batteries that the "Delco-Eye" has returned! It's not widespread, but I've seen some.

I do agree that a GM dealer might not be the most "cost effective" place to purchase a battery.

I have a local parts store that handles AC Delco parts. I have bought my AC Delco batteries from them for many many years. Take my previous battery receipts from previous purchases with me to show them the great discount they have always given me on a new AC Delco battery purchase.

Joe, do you know where I can purchase a Delco battery with an eye. Look everywhere and can't find one for a 95. I'm in the process of duplicating the correct decal. If it's a flat top, that will be a perfect battery for a repo for late C4s.

I've not seen one that was a group 75 which is what you need. The ones I have seen were non-Corvette battery groups.

By the way, you actually need a Group 75B . This was a special group 75 that had the Delco-Eye on the opposite side so that the eye would be visible in a C4 Corvette installation. Most group 75 batteries with Delco-Eye were 75A.

Follow the alternate "route" that I suggested above. Otherwise, let me know what city you're in and I'll check it for you.

Thanks for the info Joe. We would have to use a NAPA Legend battery. Remove the legend decal and and add the Delco Freedom decal. This could save us four or five points.

A little info regarding buying parts at the dealership. Alot of you may already be aware of this but parts prices are nearly always negotiable. Most likely they will sell you the parts at or close to "shop" prices if you ask. I always ask something along the lines of"Whats your best price?" and 9 times out of 10 get a favorable result.

I bought my AC Delco battery at the local Chevy dealer to replace the NAPA one right before judging to pick up a few points and paid about what I would have at O'Riellys for a generic battery. Ended up getting a top of the line Pro Gold one to boot.
