Correct finish on a/c rear support bracket for 72

Should the air conditioning compressor rear support bracket (3878222) be painted semi gloss black, or left natural.

Thank you Joe. Some day I hope to meet you in person. Will you be in San Antonio in July?

        Mike-----

I highly doubt it. July is my "lobster and steamed clam eating month" and those are NOT the kind of things one goes to San Antonio for.

I think you forgot a negative word someplace in there -- probably between the words "are" & "the." I don't think they will stock The Riverwalk for you, nor could they find enough lobsters & clams to do so.

Yup, I did leave a word out. I corrected it.

So, are you heading to New England for a good ol' Fourth of July clam bake?? One of my most vivid memories as a kid.

I believe that they are the same black used for all the other brackets. However, the exhaust manifold heat will dull them over time when compared to the other parts.

If you think Joe has Corvettes down to a science, you should see him eating a Lobster! I have and believe me he can clean a Lobster like no one I have ever seen! One of our dear friends (RIP) would treat us to a meal of Maine Lobster at Carlisle each year. Remember that Joe?

                    JR------

VERY, VERY well! And, I'll never forget it. Ever. As I recall, John Hinckley was there and he doesn't like lobster. So, I ate his, too.

Oh, and by the way, I definitely know way more about eating lobster than I know or ever will know about Corvettes. WAY, WAY more. The thing I do regret, though, is that in my early years I wouldn't touch the tomale (the "green stuff" in the body) and discarded it. When I think about all the tomale I threw away I could just cry. Now, I think of it as just about the best part of the lobster but there's so little in each lobster! Is this stuff good for lobster eaters? No, it's definitely NOT. But, it's so good, it's to die for-----figuratively and literally.

Probably not for July 4 but for some considerable period in July. However, I should be there long enough to go through about 30-40 lobsters and 20-30 pounds of steamed clams.

I have some NOS examples of these brackets [not for sale]. The finish is very low gloss black (definitely not what I would call flat black, though). It's also quite thin and the texture of the cast surface "shows through" very well. I'd picture them if I thought my back and hip could stand the effort of finding and digging through some heavy tote bins.
