C1 1962 Bumper blackout

When a 62 was painted black exterior, were the bumper areas and side cove areas blacked out like other exterior colors were....the pictures below illustrate a semi or flat blackout behind the bumper on the car pictured on the right, when clearly that area would be painted tuxedo black and gloss as my car was as pictured on the left, the judging guide does not address black cars..... who owns an original paint black 62 that can comment?

Dino..I bought a new 62 black on black and the coves behind bumper were not gloss black like exterior paint...but flat black like grill
