I've decided to replace the braided LL wires with modern ones. Of course I'll do it the hard way and slip the new wires into the braids. I started to pull back the boots from the metal connector that snaps onto the spark plug itself and I found something unexpected. Some of the LL ends are straight and some are bent. I have a few older GM originals so I slipped the boots back and more irregularities followed. Some straight, some at an angle less than the LL wires and some the same. Are all of the ends at the plug supposed to be bent? If so, at what angle? Thanks!!

As far as I know, all of the plug end boots were at a slight angle, perhaps around 15 degrees. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: '72 LS5 ignition wire question
Thanks Joe. I'm aware that aftermarket spark plug boots are much greater than your 15* guesstimate but I do think you're in the ballpark based on my observations.
Was just wondering if anyone had experience with original wires and their angles. Especially since the LL wires and older (but not original) GM wires have a few different angles.- Top
