I am installing new seat covers in a 1975 Convertable. Seeing the he seats are apart I purchased the seat belt guides, the front chrome piece and rear bezel. Only problem is how does it install. Do I have to cut a hole in the seat back frame and how does the guide position inside the seat frame. Pictures and comments appreciated.

Re: C3 shoulder Belt Guide Installation
The frame, assuming it is there in front of you, has a slot through which the seat belt goes. It should be somewhat (?) obvious. The hole in the front chrome piece lines up with it, and the rear bezel screws into the screw holes around the slot from the rear.
Here:
C3 Tech/Performance - Seat belts - I have replacement seat belts for my 73. My car has been apart for so long, I forget how the original shoulder belt was routed. In the assembly manual, I see it going through the seat. There is no hole in my seat for the shoulder belt. Was it done differently, or should I somehow...

Re: C3 shoulder Belt Guide Installation
Patrick, I am looking at it now, all their is is 5/8 round hole in the middle of the front chrome piece. That's why I was puzzled.- Top

Re: C3 shoulder Belt Guide Installation
If it doesn't have the rectangular slot like in the posted link, you've got the wrong or a defective piece.- Top

Re: C3 shoulder Belt Guide Installation
I just got to the web site Patrick provided and have a picture of a seat back with the holes in it. I should be able to trace the slot opening from the chrome strip on the front of the seat. Does anyone see any problems with this approach?- Top

Re: C3 shoulder Belt Guide Installation
You should be able to feel with your finger where the seat cover needs to be cut open. This is done after the cover has been installed.- Top

Re: C3 shoulder Belt Guide Installation
Thank you, I agree! I cut an opening in the frame based on the opening of the front chrome strip for the seatbelt pass through but I am still not able to get the correct orientation of the pass through bracket. It looks like the seat frame must have had a flange for the correct angle and holes for the pass through bracket to screw into. A picture of a frame back without a cover would sure answer a lot of guestions but I can't find any. Help !- Top

Re: C3 shoulder Belt Guide Installation
or
search eBay for Corvette seat frame
Google and eBay often have a LOT of useful images.
P. S. There are tens of thousands of seat back frames with the factory holes in them for shoulder belts. I would not waste time modifying one to make it work when every Corvette swap meet has them. Ebay does too, of course.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS
