    58-60 hardtop

Hi...what is an average cost of 58-60 top in 8.5-9 condition. rear glass says 7-7-8 Acryl. liner is 59 or 60 not pebble grain, rear bottom stainless has flat head screws securing it to inner piece, paint is very good with a small area of pitting on left side. Unit was restored in 98-99 and very clean. Thank you, Brad or hake1@comcast.net

    Brad,
I would have trouble classifying a top that has screws through the lower molding as an 8.5-9. That molding with its retainer is not a trifling piece.

Mike, I was not asking to be judged sorry, this is a very nice piece and if anyone with an idea on prices for these would be helpful. It is available. Brad.

        Brad,
It wasn't my intent to be negative. I had no idea about your context. But I will stand by my statement and phrase it another way: a top with screws through the back molding would be worth considerably less than a regular 8.5-9.

          Re: 58-60 hardtop

Hi Brad, I don't know exactly what a C1 top is worth these days...but just for information...back in '03 I paid $1,500. for a C3 top that that I spent another $1,500. to restore. After I was finished, I saw restored tops for about $3,500. That was then...this is now. Also, I have to believe a C1 top is harder to come by than a C3 top. For what it's worth...if you found one and you like it...if you have no problem justifying the cost to yourself, then go for it. Don't worry that it's not perfect...don't worry what anyone else thinks. Good luck, and enjoy your car

if I were to spend that kind of money on a hard top, I'd buy one without screws through the trim. Might be hard to resell if you have second thoughts later too.

Thank you Dan for your reply. I know what top condition C1 top's go for but am trying to get a fair price on the one have owned since 2000. Thank you, Brad.

That's the confusion, we thought you were trying to buy it, not price it out for sale.
