Finish on 72 steering box bolts

I had been under the impression the three bolts that mount the steering box to the frame should have a natural finish. However, the bolts, lock washers, and nuts I removed on my 72 are definitely black plated. I intend to reinstall these as black because I believe them to be original, but I was wondering about judging. I couldn't find anything in the JG, or archives.

    Thanks,

    Mike

The carriage bolts used to attach the steering box were definitely black phosphate finished. The nuts and washers GM specified in the AIM were of "plain" finish. However, it's always possible that those were not the washers and nuts actually used.

Thank you Joe. I don't mind changing the washers and nuts but those bolts were in beautiful condition. I would have hated to change those.
