1969 windshield-etched on inside or outside? read from inside or outside?

Gentlemen, Have searched here and can't seem to get a firm answer as to the two questions of the w/s etching being on the inside or the outside and readable from which side. What do you 69 judges expect to see? Thanks

Well, the original w/s in my 68 is etched on the outside but is readable from the inside. Hope that helps. Doug
