I am searching for both hinge pillars, but could not find these anywhere.

Any advice where to buy them please?

You've asked a question that could get very expensive for a number of reasons.

As far as the pillar posts go, these were last available from GM as assemblies under GM #14033459, lh, and 14033460, rh. However, these were discontinued a long time ago and are very hard to find. Not surprisingly, the "court of last resort" for Corvette parts, JT Piper, has a set for sale on eBay. If you search on the part numbers I mentioned, they will come up. As always with the "court of last resort", they are expensive. Of course, that's why he still has a set available. The only other NOS set I know of is not for sale.

I do not know if these pillar posts are reproduced. However, IF they are, the most likely manufacturing sources will be Vette Products of Michigan, Caledonia Classic Cars, or CSC Reproductions. I kind of doubt that they will be reproduced although I know that the windshield section of them is reproduced.

Other than the above, you might be able to obtain them from used Corvette parts sources if you can find a set that are not corrosion or collision damaged.

Now we get to the REAL expensive part: installing them in the car. This is involves MAJOR effort. If you have someone else do it, it's going to be VERY expensive because of all the work involved. Also, if you have someone else do it, be absolutely certain that they are experienced in this work. This is NOT a job for "first timers" or someone that "thinks they can do it".

I purchased a used birdcage portion to be able to replace parts, but between CSC and Caledonia I believe you can get all of the parts new.

However, as Joe mentioned, it might cost more than the car is worth to replace them.

Hello and thanks to all of you!!

I've wrote to CSC Reproductions and they don't have it. Than I tried to search both numbers on the Ebay, but nothing come up. I have just found one side used on Big City Corvettes.

Wouldn't you have an email to Caledonia Classis Cars? My Spoken English isn't the best so I am not sure if I would be able to solve it on the phone ;-)

I have think also about used birdcage and this would be the last solution. The delivery to Europe would not be easy and will increase the price very very much.

The numbers 14033459 and 14033460 still work for me on eBay. Just one listing each from JT Piper, the "court of last resort".

The delivery to Europe would not be easy and will increase the price very very much.

Josef, from personal experience, it's most likely that several other components of the windshield frame or 'birdcage' are also heavily damaged and due for replacement. It's unlikely that just the pillar posts are damaged.

Replacement of these components, even if they are available, is very time consuming as mentioned above requiring hundreds of hours of labour assuming someone with experience. Any errors in alignment will mean unacceptable fit for the windshield glass and/or door fit. Again, I speak from experience.

Your best option might be to find a local C3 that is being scrapped for other reasons and use the entire birdcage.

No matter what, repairing this car is not likely to be a sound financial decision.
