NCRS Concours Judging Ready for Lift-Off

Six cars have been invited to the Lakeland, FL, regional meet for test judging in our new Concours Division. The judges have been selected. Judging sheets have been printed. Buckle your seat belts!

Exciting to see this new judging class! It will release the inner "corvette hotrodder" in all of us!

If there are some nice C1s here, I could use your help for the AJS. Please.

Great news. How were the judges chosen?

Brian, I'll find out over the weekend, Dave Brigham is traveling today so probably won't answer, I'll be there tomorrow and will let you know.

                    Brian,
I selected the teams myself from the members who requested judging jobs in Lakeland. Most likely, I will continue to handle the selection of judges for a while.

Dave - so, based on your reply when will the Chapters be able to do this style of judging?

Has it been decided yet, how many non-RPO changes will be allowed before a Corvette is no longer eligible to be judged in the Stock class? (Headers, 5 speed trans, extra gauges, aluminum heads for 327, etc).
Are "safety" items like correct sized radial tires considered a change?

I don't normally post on this board, but as a participant in the new judging class, I've got to say, "Thank you". I had a blast. Having been a judge, and campaigned a few cars through the "flight" system, I'll tell you that this was just as intense, just as professional, and just as meaningful as a the flight judging program. Rather than write it all out, here is a thread that I started on the "other" forum about a week ago. http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...-lakeland.html

"Thank you" to Dave B. for helping this along. Thanks to all the judges, who did a great job. I'm really hoping that this program "gets some legs", and becomes an accepted part of the NCRS.

                            Regards,
                            Mike Coletta

                              Rick,
There is much work to do before we will be ready to release this program to the chapter-level. Right now we have one event under our belt; the general feeling is that it went well and was well received. Practice judging will continue through Laughlin and Des Moines regionals and the San Antonio convention. After that, assuming the program is deemed a success, I will need to add the C1 class, and there will be a ton of programming work. Thanks for your interest. Stay tuned.
