70 Hood latch Cable Clevis Cotter Pin

In what configuration did the factory typically bend the tiny cotter pin through the clevis that attaches the cable between the hood latches? (Female latch on hood)

The clevis pin face is to the hood penetrating the cable hole through the bracket, next is a washer then the cotter pin. This found in the 1970 AIM page K267.

Thank you Brian. The AIM is very clear but what I am after is how exactly did the factory bend the cotter pin. The ball joint cotter pins are bent a certain way so I am wondering what is typical for this cotter pin.
