    Correct Voltage

What is the correct volt range at coil and distributor for a TI ignition 66 427/425 while the engine is running?

    Walter,

What voltage are you seeing now with engine running?

Too bad I didn't know your question yesterday at a friend's shop on a '67 as I could have tested for you, however with engine running the voltage will be pulsing from the TI Amp so a DC Meter won't necessarily give you a accurate condition of the system. I can likely get some numbers next week, but for now, with IGN on, you should get between 2.5 to 4.5 volts at the coil, which may also be seen with a good DC Meter with engine running. I never actually did that before as it may not be the prefferred method.

When I go back up I'll take my oscilloscope and capture some waveforms which will show the actual DC levels of the waveforms. I'll also check my test data that i took with a mockup TI system bench test which actually emulates a running engine, albeit with a slow turning distributor with a drill.
