    Source for several 71 bolts/screws?

The first I'm looking to find is the screws that hold the fiberboard doors to the rear storage compartment. They are "black-oxide cross recess pan-head machine screws with captive black-oxide washers". I'm pretty sure it is a #8 screw. I have had two major suppliers tell me that these were a part of their rear storage kits, when in fact, they are not included.
The second is the screw that goes through the rocker panel molding tab. It is a "black oxide cross-recess filister head" screw.
    Sources for either of these?
    Thanks!

Mike, You may want to try Richard Fortier in the drive line, I have had good luck.

Thanks, Greg. I bought a 37-gallon metal gas tank from Richard in 1983 so I could trade it for the original 37-gallon fiberglass tank that was removed from my 62. I can go to him if I need to, certainly. I was hoping someone new of a certain source where they had already gotten these pieces.

The rear compartment cover screw was GM #9418551.

I'm not sure which screw you mean by the rocker molding tab screw. If you mean the one that goes in from the bottom, it was GM #9419322.

Both of the above screws are available in reproduction from AMK Products.

          Mike,
That rocker panel tab screw may be a recessed hex head. My May and June 1971 cars have a hex head screws and I have seen earlier 1971's with the hex as well.

            Dave,
My late 71 had the recessed head as you suggest. The car that I'm working on is a November '70 car. It's interesting that the 71 AIM on section 1 page F26 never references a change, but we have definitely seen the change on original unmolested cars. Both the 70 and 72 AIM reference the same part number, 9419322, but we know St. Louis changed it some time in the 71 model year.

              Joe,
I have difficulty negotiating AMK's website. Is there a way to do that by GM part number that I haven't found? Also, the $30 minimum charge is a bit steep for a minimal number of screw--but I also want to get things right.

You might try Rich Pasqualone as well.

                  Hi Mike,
Those screws that hold the compartment doors to the hinges are going to be very tough to find unless Richard Fortier has them. I was searching for them for another NCRS member, who needed them for an early 73. These changed to a different type later in the 73 year when GM changed the compartment door liners from fiberboard to plastic. You are also correct, when you say the vendors all say they are part of their kits. But they are not correct. Your best bet would be to contact someone who parts out vettes, maybe you'll get lucky. I was lucky, a guy I usually buy used OEM parts from on eBay found 8 for me for very little $$$. Here's a photo of the compartment screw I believe your looking for. Also I've included a photo of a kit sold by Corvette Fasteners to show what most venders are selling. Hopefully, the pics will help.
                  Regards,
                  Happy New Year!

The GM #9419322 is an untrimmed (i.e. "indented'), hex head self-tapping screw.

I searched for hours on line trying to find that glove box lid screw a couple months back including AMK and didn't find it but followed Joe's directions and low and behold here are the AMD part numbers for the two that Mike is looking for. Storage door lid:B-10925 and rocker molding B-11090 or B-12089 Joe, What does "S2" or "S8" mean in relation to the two last AMK part numbers I just listed?
