Is there a record of how many Duntov cars have earned the Triple Crown Award

Was told by a friend that only 42 Duntov cars have earned the Tripple Crown award. I can not find this record listed on any websites? Is there such record keeping and if where can I find it.
I do know to be considered for the Tripple Crown, a car must 1st have a NCRS top flight and a Bloomington Gold award. Duntov award is not needed, but the number would be less than the top flight awarded cars entered.

Not in NCRS records - why would NCRS keep track of a for-profit organization's awards? You could ask Bill Braun, who is an paid officer of the Triple Crown and somehow serves as a Regional Representative of NCRS without a conflict of interest?
The lack of #s could be simply if you have a Duntov and a Gold, do you really need to go to Chicago again?

Thank you, I understand NCRS would not have records, looking for a website that is listing triple crown awards.

Well, I can attest that there is at least one, the two-time Duntov, blue 63 fuelie in my avatar. Its triple crown was back in the 90s, but I did another Duntov a couple of years ago. I didn't see the need to do Bloomington or the triple crown again...

It'd be nice to hear from some other owner of similarly awarded cars...

I'll bet there is even less that have Duntov, Bloomington Gold, Gold Spinner, Triple Crown, and AACA Senior Grand National.

            Gold Spinner

I also have on file all the judging sheets and comments also all work that was carried out in between judging that took the Corvette to the next level. I was told many years ago on ave that every 1% past 97 would cost you about 6k each percent, maybe more today.

That might be true for a guy that does all the restoration with a check book. But for guys doing everything one's self to a car that is very original to start with, I would disagree. My advice is go for the more plain Jane small blocks that haven't been messed with. Much lower bottom line invested to get the same award and better suited to drive any distance.

                Gene,

I agree with you BUT when a Plain Jane is done by anyone the cost is about the same as if it were a 435, FI etc. When you or your heirs want to sell the same investment will bring a lot more bucks if you started out with a desirable car. Yeah, I know you are going to keep it forever and that is why I included (heirs) in my statement.
Bottom line is don't waste time and money on a POS.
Would not you want your son or daughter to realize maximum return on your investment?

I remember, and I am sure you do too, when this was a hobby and the ROI wasn't even thought about. I know: "You can't go home again," but for some of us ROI doesn't matter -- even for our heirs.

Answer to your question is NO. I have my cars because I desire to have them. If I cared about making money they would be stocks, funds and real estate or cash.

Your statement "Bottom line is don't waste time and money on a POS." is insulting to us that do not possess or care to own a 435, FI.

Plain Jane SB are great drivers or show cars, what's under the hood is not important to everybody. I'm not saying anything bad about 435, FI but they look at taillights compared to performance today. It's last years race car in terms of performance. I fail to see the grave desire and outrageous prices of them over a nice plain Jane Corvette just because of what is hidden under the hood.

Well said Terry. I'm in total agreement, it is not all about the money. Kinda like having kids, it's because you (and spouse) want them it's not a financial investment.

I have a 67 435 coupe that has Duntov, Bloomington Gold, AACA Junior and Senior Awards. I see no reason to go to Chicago.

Re: Is there a record of how many Duntov cars have earned the Triple Crown Award

In 2000 I bought a 65 L78 Coupe with all original paperwork concerning ordering and St. Louis plant delivery - factory side pipes, yellow color, 4sp, pw, Starting from day 1 I started to make corrections. In 2002 I got my first Top Flight (over 97) - the next year I signed up for the National at Hershey Pa..Just so happened about 2 weeks before Hershey there was a Corvette Meet held at Seven Springs Pa. I got my car in for PV judging and I would up passing the PV on my first shot. I did get my 2nd Top Flight once again over 97 score at Hershey and was awarded The Duntov. I went two years later to Chigago and won Bloomington Gold. I went the next year to Chicago for the Chevy Fest and won the Gold Spinner and the Triple Crown Awards. I underwent some operations that left me unable to work a clutch and so I sold the car complete with awards and paperwork in 2012 I know the new owner went the next year t0 a NCRS show out in Altoona and scored over 97 with a car that I had spent no money on since 2003. I now just turned 77 and drive a 2015 Coupe with auto = but I still miss that 65. I can also say winning that Duntov made winning that Bloomington Gold and Gold Spinner a bunt

I'm sure I have much more money in my car than I'd ever get for it, but I didn't buy it as an investment...

If I had counted the money it took to go from 97.0 to 99.2, I could've probably bought another car...
