Thanks Patrick, a good idea too. I just thought it would be neat to have it in the battery box. The Delco Freedom II is such a rare battery to find in any condition, I looked for almost two years for it and have never seen another. This one has all the correct date codes, stickers, numbers, etc. for the late '81 Corvette. Since the '81 is not exactly the most popular Corvette, that battery is also not popular.

I hope your judging goes well. I headed the first-ever bow tie team (61-62 at Warren in 1992) and have also bowtied 2 62's and got three stars with my 71 LT-1 convertible. I really appreciate the original cars and the bow tie judging process.

Thank you Mike. After years of having cars in flight judging I wanted to try something different, and since I participated in Terry's Advanced Judging Seminars for years, came to really appreciate the Bowtie cars and the originality. It took a while to find one, as I had targeted an '81 since it my first new Corvette, and only one had ever been awarded the 5 Stars. But, I think this one has a good chance, a 5K mile, very little touched from when it left Bowling Green (except the battery of course) and pristine in most all ways. The sign-off regional looked good, so I am optimistic for the San Antonio judging, and all the things that I need to do after that if it scores 4 stars and I go for 5. It is a long road for sure, but lots of fun so far.
