    59 cylinder case

    I have a 59 block with casting date L 4 8, Nov 4 1958 need help with pad it is stamped
    FI208FB, what date is this

      By the way, "FB" is not a suffix code ever used for a Corvette engine.

        I knew it wasn't corvette,but I couldn't any 59 chevrolet with FB suffix in any of my books Paul

          I couldn't, either. It may be that it started life as a complete SERVICE engine for a passenger car application. Or, it might have been a PRODUCTION engine for a truck application.

              Well, from your 2nd photo it is clearly EB which is a passenger car 283 Turboglide and 4 bbl carb. FB is a 348 Tripower and high lift cam.
