Re: 1963 Coupe Windshield Molding Clips

The biggest problem is that the ends of the upper molding are not catching on the clips at the very end of the windshield frame, closest to the sides. Do you know how close the clips need to be placed from the ends of the upper molding? Should a clip be placed in every sectional cut in the curve? If so, then more clips are needed then what was supplied by Paragon. The molding sat flush with the body during the dry fit. I'm thinking of pulling the windshield out for a third time, and starting over. (I cannot believe that I just said that.)

      John,

Here is the arrangement on my 63 coupe showing the receiving clips near the top and bottom corner. These clips grab the slide in clips in the vertical molding and hold the corners down.

On the bottom you can see the last thin clip near the corner then the two thick clips next to them. On the top I believe the first three are the thin style then the thick clip on each side. Try not to pay attention to the black caulk, that was my first attempt. When You rope the coupe windshield start at the top and pull around the top corners first and finish at the bottom center, use liquid soap on the rubber groove and metal lip and it will be a easy install.

I appreciate all of your help. I have my clips in the exact position as the clips in your photos. I'm thinking that what you said in post #30 above may be one of my problems. I will now start to try and find some different slide in clips, and compare them to the Paragon clips as I bought an extra, just in case. Either that, or try and find some professional help, (for both the windshield installation, and my mental state, (just kidding about the later)). Again, thanks for all your help.
