Transmission Guide Pin # J - 1126

I'm looking for the length of these guide pins to help me remove my T 10 Transmission. I know the thread is 1/2-13 and the bolts itself is 1 3/4" long. So I guess the guide pins are somewhat longer than that. I can make my own pins, but am unsure as to the correct length.

Your help is appreciated.

The tranny input shaft will guide the tranny home. I would think anything more would just bind things up making it more difficult.

I believe the MR GASKET pins I bought years ago are about 3 to 3-1/2 inches long with slotted ends. I loaned them out to a friend so I can't measure them for you right now. However, I prefer something a bit longer, like maybe 4 inches.

You can always cut them back if they are too long.

You can check Summit or Jegs etc to see what they are currently selling and what the standard length is. You will also need a cut down transmission input shaft to align the clutch disc and/or install the pilot bushing.........the plastic alignment tools do not work very well (but are definitely better than nothing).
