    1973 EVAP Canister Date Code???

Recently removed my EVAP Canister on my 73 to clean it and replace the lower filter. I had to replace the hose going from it to the metal fuel vapor line too. It was dry rotted and cracked. Just wondering if these were dated. I've attached a couple photos. One showing what it looked like after 40+ years. The other showing the top after cleaning. The part number at the top does match the number in my AIM- 7030605. Not sure about the numbers 14441 near the bottom
    Thanks,
    Jimmy

Jim, I am not sure about the lower number a but I think its a date stamp as it appears to be a random heat style stamp.Just a guess, but 144th day of 74 1st shift. I have had my 72 out at one point to do the same as you are doing and recall something stamped as yours, I will take a look and see if there is a number that can be seen while its back in the car.

      Thanks Ed,
That will be interesting. I was certain that it was original to the car. Just by its condition and the bad condition of the original yellow stripe hose and yellow pinch clamps. If it was changed it sure was done early on. But, then again as I found out anything is possible with these cars.
      Regards,

hi Jim, I tried to look at the canister in car and there is no way to see anything, the vacuum hose and vacuum res. tank block the top of tank.

          Thanks for trying Ed,
I know it's very difficult to see while it's installed in the car. I'm sure that's why it's not date judged. I just thought there would have been more of a response from others. I've seen some with just a 3 digit number in that same location. Similar to the c3 alarm horns. I guess there isn't much interest in whether they were dated or not.

Both of my 73s have a 3 digit number. They are the day of the year. Sept 72 car is stamped 243 and the April 73 is stamped 100.
