1965 Right Front Corner Panel (Parking Lamp)

I have pretty much exhausted efforts to find an NOS Right Front Corner Panel for my 1965 Coupe. Its an early car which would probably have been the light gray panel required, and would possibly be the dark gray panel as well. Also, the 1967 panel would work, and believe to be black fiberglass. If I find an NOS 63-64 panel which is white, I am OK with that one and would then need to grind down the raised spot with the hole that the aluminum trim fastens to. I am still searching for an NOS panel if I can find one, but my question is, Who in your opinion out there produces the best press molded panel? I do not want the GM later SMC panel.

Any recommendations would be appreciated if you are able to list some.

Both have their + and - points. At about $300 each list for the part you need, I'd be tempted to buy one from each, compare, and return the unused one even if you have to pay a restocking fee.

Also take a look at America's Finest Corvettes. We used one of theirs on my 66 and very pleased with fit and finish.

I believe, but could be mistaken, all the reproductions and NOS service replacements are made to fit all C2s. So if you want any of them to look like original you need to do some fiberglass work on the bump out which is there to work with the 63 and maybe 64 grills mounting.

Ah, forgot that AFC makes a few select panels. It might be worth calling them to see if the panels come in the correct-for-year color.
The panels shown in the photos on their website look very good.

These can be a bit tricky to find - the above two vendors are prob your best bet...
And, no, this one is not for sale

Others may disagree but in my opinion,if you are willing to settle for an incorrect color OEM glass, then that is no better than a nice repo.

In my humble opinion there is only one source for fiberglass panels and that is Sermersheim's (now called L.B Composites) as Jim has passed. Phone 1 812 424-4701. Their panels are made by the original contractor to GM. Others are hand laid or crap! Mostly both!

I can assure you that Americas Finest Corvettes panels are press molded and fit. Sermershim's are good but my experience with them is it take a while to get stuff. The panel I got from Americas Finest Corvettes was in stock
