Hi guys is there a form or checklist to go through a car and list various items with part numbers and date codes? Just looking for something to be able to log everything in an organized fashion.

Re: Form to document a '67
Greg,
I don't think anything like you are looking for is produced in mass. I have a '64 convert. I created a spread sheet for all part numbered, dated or cast numbered major components that are listed in the '64 Judging Guide. A time consuming task - I went through the JG page by page - if an item discussed included associated PN, casting or date data I entered it in my spread sheet - including all relevant "correct" data - then I did an inspection on my car and annotated what I had for each component listed. If you are interested I will send the spread sheet to you - the specifics won't work for your '67 but the format will.Ed- Top

I too created an Excel spreadsheet for this. Mine is based on a Noland Adams book. It is likely much shorter than the more complete one that Ed made. Mine covers the major components. I can try to post it here or send it to you if you like.

That sounds like a lot of work!!! Could you post it here? If not, could you please send it to me?
Thanks!!!

Re: Form to document a '67
Joe, others,
Problem here - it appears that this tech forum will not allow me to attach an excel spread sheet - so, I saved it as a PDF file - if anyone wants it as an excel document send me a private message with your e mail address - or tell me how to attach an excel spread sheet in this program.
I have attached my "component data" spread sheet for your convenience. Feel free to: a) use it as is; b) modify or: c) trash it. FYI - here are some key points to consider if you choose options a or b.
1. It is on Excel 2013, if you have an earlier version of Excel and it does not open up for you send me a private message and I will send you a copy in an earlier Excel version.
2. It is configured to appear in landscape mode and it prints on 8.5 x 14 paper.
3. It is tailored to my particular car, a '64 convert, L76, no AC or PS. If your car is optioned differently then you will have to add or delete rows and make entries accordingly.
4. What it represents. I sat down with the latest JG and went through it page by page. If the JG mentioned a part and there was either a PN, serial #, casting code, casting or MFR date associated with it then I listed the part and all the associated data from the JG. Notice the entry in the first cell of each line that says "JG p xx" in red font - that is the page in the JG the info appears on - useful if you want to find more info about that part as you are inspecting your car. All the info in the first 6 columns are directly from the JG - that is the "as it left the factory" info or what should be on your car.
5. Column 7, "YES" or "NO". When I inspect a part on my car if it conforms to the info in columns 1 through 6 I enter "YES" - if it does not I enter "NO" - Column 8 is self explanatory - Column 9 is where I enter info re sources for correct parts, cost, judging point value etc for any item that earns a "NO" on my car.
I hope you find this spread sheet useful - again, feel free to modify it to your hearts content.Ed- Top

Re: Form to document a '67
Joe - others,
While I am at it - I am going to attach two other documents. The first is a comprehensive table of contents of the 1964 AIM that I created for my personal use. I found the table of contents in the AIM completely useless - and very inaccurate. So, I went page by page and created the attached document. This table is only good for the '64 AIM but you could probably use it as a point of departure if you wanted to create one for a '65 or another mid-year Corvette. Feel free to reproduce and share to your hearts content.
The second is a PDF file that I got from the NCRS reference section - it is the judging guide score sheet for mid-years. I had to convert it to a PDF to attach it to this reply - you can download it in its original excel format from another section of the NCRS website. I use these sheets in conjunction with the component part spread sheet I created for myself and that I attached in my previous reply. I am attaching it purely to make you aware that it exists - I did not create it or claim to have anything to do with its creation.
Enjoy -Ed- Top

Re: Form to document a '67
Excellent work on both of these.
A friend of mine made a similar TOC for the 1973 AIM. I got one of his TOCs, only to find out that since I had a different AIM "editor / distributor / manufacturer" than he did, the page numbers were different.
It was something like one of the AIMs came from Mid-America Corvettes, and the other AIM came from ZIP Products (or something like this) and while the sheets were the same, the vendor assigned page numbers were different.
I suggested to my friend that his AIM TOC be updated to reference the Sheet number, and not the vendor assigned page numbers.
He said it was too much work.- Top
