1962 Engine compartment red positive feed wire, regulator to dash - Routing

On the passenger side engine compartment the starter harness exits near the female hood latch through a grommet. The bulk of the wires feed the starter, but there is a large red wire that runs along the passenger side inner wheel well and attaches to the battery terminal on the regulator. The question is how was this wire routed from the factory? the AIM is general at best, and my original had been changed over the years. There are two J clips along the hood drip rail, but the fresh air heater duct comes into play as well as the two brackets that support the flex duct and the female hood latch.....specifically from the grommet on the firewall where does it route? I picture would be worth a thousand words.....I showed a set of pictures I took from a restored car that is not mine, but helps explain the area I am talking about.
