Is there a trick on this 93 to release the boot from the spark plug?

On my 90 they were a bear to get off especially the ones in the hard to reach area as you just can't get a good grip with your hands. That said the rubber boot over time from the heat becomes attached to the plug. Try twisting the boot from side to side if you can to break the seal the rubber boot has on the plug. I also fashion a hook out of a thin coat hanger and worked it between the boot and plug to loosen the rubber.

I have used wire to form a circular hook to pull the spark plug boot from the bottom of the boot at the lip of boot.

they make a special tool just for this problem. not saying it will work on a C4 as the drivers side is very tight.

Frank, take a pocket screwdriver and some WD40 and slip the driver between the wire and boot, spray and work you way around the boot while spraying, once the boot spins freely slowly remove.
